Auto-create of local features

Importing the data from the CAD design to auto-create the module as local features.

Now we have the objects imported from the drawing, with an overview of those units – there are dimensions and plan references, which relate to the original plan.

Create Feature sheets

This is not the BOM, just the top level assemblies in the kitchen. In our case we just need a single level, but CAP-Suite can handle multi-level if necessary.

Meanings of fields

Unit is BOR (the module code), PlanRef is the reference number on the ArtiCAD drawing, so that components may be related back to the plan when we later produce the assembly instructions – the other entries are dimensions from ArtiCAD

Key points here –

  • We are able to create automatically a sales order BOM with as many assemblies and of any depth that we like.
  • We can have as many different feature sheets to handle as many variations of objects as we need.
  • Each feature sheet can be different, so the user only has to deal with the data elements associated with that element of the kitchen.
  • This handling of the data and screens (feature sheets and display of overview information) are all part of CAP, there is no need to develop this processing.
